The
Company
CSC
Global Technologies is a privately held Canadian company
based in the city of Calgary, Alberta. It markets its'
products, services and associated technologies under
the trade name of Canvid. The company was organized
in July, 2001 by three founding organizations, with
the purpose of developing internet based technologies.
Within months the objective was further refined to develop
Video and Audio compression technologies that surpass
the performance criteria of the then existing solution.
Through the long and hard three years of Research &
Development efforts, this objective has been accomplished.
CSC now controls a comprehensive line of unique, innovative,
revolutionary, and industry leading proprietary compression
technologies and solutions. In a mere three and half
years, it has powered itself into an organization offering
a video compression platform which has no equal in the
world.
While
others make claims, we believe in ‘show me don’t
tell me’. Our technology consistently out performs
the applications offered by much larger corporations.
Our compression ratios are much higher, we can deliver
video on a dial up modem, the quality is always maintained
at VHS, Broadcast or DVD quality and we can encode video
a stream ‘on the fly’. We back up all our
claims through actual demonstrations on demand. In a
recent demonstration, in the office, of one of the world’s
leading compression technology providers, our compression
outperformed their just released version by a factor
of 5:1, while maintaining video quality. This is a significant
advancement.
The Internet based services such as video-on-demand,
video broadcast, video conferencing, e-learning, telemedicine,
security and surveillance which were, in the past, confined
to large corporations due to large capital and operating
costs can now be made available to everyone. The 84%
of the worldwide Internet users who have access to the
Internet through a low bandwidth dial up modem can now
utilize these Internet based services without incurring
the huge costs.
The company has introduced three of its applications
into the market place. These applications include Internet
based video conferencing for home and business consumption,
real time broadcast over the Internet and video on demand
through download & play and streaming. The sub-application
of the video on demand is video on PDA. The company
feels that both public and private corporations will
be highly receptive to this particular application as
it allows storage of up to 4 hours of video contents
on 256 MB flash card.
The
company has three highly sought for applications in
the development stage. This includes e-Learning, Tele-Medicine
and Security & Surveillance. Company anticipate
the entry of these applications into the market place
in later part of 2005.
