CANVID lets you save your Editor settings as presets so you can reuse them in future screen recording projects and keep every tutorial, product demo, bug report and YouTube screen recording consistent on both Windows and Mac.

Presets help keep your style consistent and speed up your workflow, whether you're working alone or with a team.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to:

  • Find your presets on your computer
  • Share them with others
  • Use presets made by someone else from another computer.

1. Check your presets

Before sharing, make sure your presets are ready.
Click the Presets button in CANVID and go through your list.

⚠️ If you make any changes, click Update to match currently edited project to save them.

2. Find your Presets folder

Click the three dots next to any preset and choose Show in File Explorer (Windows) or Show in Finder (Mac).

This opens the folder where your presets are saved.

3. Share the preset files

Now you can copy the .canvidpreset files however you like:
Upload them to cloud storage, email them, or put them on a USB drive, whatever works for you.

Once you have the .canvidpreset files ready, here’s how to use them on another Windows or Mac computer:

Copying the presets to the folder, where the Preset list in app is immediately updated

On Windows:
Open File Explorer and paste this into the address bar:
%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Canvid\Presets
Then, paste your .canvidpreset files into that folder.

On Mac:
Open Finder and search for Canvid.
Inside the Canvid folder, you’ll find the Presets folder.
Paste your .canvidpreset files there.

Your new presets should now appear in the list and ready to use!
