August became our “fix-it month.” Instead of racing into new features, we focused on tightening things up, listening to your bug reports, and making sure Canvid felt steady under your fingertips. Now, as September begins, we’re back with version 2.1.0, a smaller update that makes Canvid easier to grab, faster to control, and nicer to work with every day.
Polishing 2.0
Your feedback after launch was massive in helping us tune things up. Some of the early issues included slower export times, audio retakes not syncing quite right, and a few login hiccups on certain networks.
- 2.0.1 (July 28): Fixed export performance, cleaned up retake syncing, and knocked out a handful of camera and transcript bugs.
- 2.0.2 (Aug 20): A smaller cleanup release with better transcript accuracy, smaller export file sizes, smoother logins, plus an update to our Privacy Policy.

A More Accessible Canvid with 2.1.0
With the foundation stable, we turned to convenience. 2.1.0 is all about shaving seconds off your workflow and making Canvid feel like it is always right where you need it.
- Tray mode lets you keep Canvid tucked away but always within reach.
- Hotkeys give you a faster way to start a new recording without having to break your flow.
- Auto-launch on startup ensures Canvid is ready the moment you log in.

We didn’t stop there:
- Cloud AI now works on systems without Intel GPUs.
- The timeline UI has been refreshed with clearer waveforms to guide your edits.
- The settings menu got a visual cleanup and a few new hotkey options.
- Transcript previews stay steady instead of flickering mid-generation.
Individually these changes may seem small, but together they make Canvid feel faster, smoother, and more reliable.

What’s next
While this month was about polish, we are already building toward some of the top requested features from the roadmap:
- Clip Speed: Adjust playback speed so you can zip through long sections or slow things down for emphasis.
- Full-screen Camera Layouts: Kick off your videos (or wrap them up) with your camera taking the full frame, then switch back to picture-in-picture for the main content. Perfect for intros and outros.
You can follow along and vote for features you would like to see at canvid.com/roadmap.
Your Feedback Matters
The past two months were about strengthening the 2.0 launch and making sure it felt solid in everyday use. With 2.1.0, we’ve made Canvid easier to reach and more comfortable to edit in.
We’re always listening to your ideas and experiences, and your feedback plays a big role in shaping every update. Keep it coming. Your input really does guide what we work on next.
