Use Window recording in CANVID when you want to capture a specific application without showing the rest of your desktop. This is perfect for focused tutorials or software demos where you only need to show one window.

After choosing Window, select the specific app window you want to capture with CANVID.4o

💡 If you want to record your entire screen—including multiple apps, browser tabs, and your desktop—choose Display mode instead.

Resize Window

The Resize Window option is exclusive to Window Recording. You can select your preferred dimensions, and CANVID will automatically resize the target window to that size. This ensures a consistent, uniform look across all your recordings—great for tutorials that need a polished appearance.

Why Use Window Recording?

  • Keeps your video clean and focused on one task
  • Prevents distractions from other windows or pop-ups
  • Ideal for tutorials involving a single application

Important Notes

  • If the selected window is minimized or closed during recording, the video may freeze or pause until the window is restored.

Dropdown menus within some applications may not be captured because they are technically treated as separate windows by your operating system. If you need to record dropdown interactions, we recommend switching to Display mode instead to ensure everything is captured smoothly.
