This beta adds a more flexible recording flow and gives you more control when editing clips, alongside a set of export and editor fixes.

  • Added region capture so you can record a selected area of your screen instead of an entire monitor or window.
  • Added per-clip speed controls in the timeline, including faster playback options for individual clips.

  • Updated the recording toolbar and source preview to better support region capture, including clearer source selection and a cropped preview of the selected area.
  • Refined the CANVID app icon with a restored shape and smoother gradients.

  • Fixed exports where lip sync could drift after retaking audio.
  • Fixed click indicators and ripple effects drifting out of place after replacement edits.
  • Fixed camera background image previews so they update more reliably when projects change or when a preview fails to load.

3.0.0-beta.1

This marks the first Beta release. This initial build doesn't contain too much but we'll be updating it very soon with some awesome new features and improvements. The plan is to get features in to the hands of the users quicker, to get a much quicker feedback loop and help us stabilize features faster.

  • Added project recovery after mixer crashes so unsaved work can be salvaged.

  • Updated our local transcription module to take advantage of the Intel NPU for speed and efficiency. Further accuracy improvements are a work in progress
  • Added a tooltip in the title bar so the full filename is visible on hover
  • Improved OCR model selection for privacy scanning.
  • Improved mixer loading so in-progress loads can be cancelled more cleanly.
  • Updated macOS cursor assets for better compatibility with newer macOS versions.

  • Fixed compress cuts so overlapping zoom segments are handled correctly.

  • Fixed audio replacement preview sliders so they line up with replacement timing correctly.
  • Fixed missing ripple effects in exports.
  • Fixed several UI issues in privacy areas and related dialogs, including sizing, opacity, spacing, and text wrapping.
