Cloud Credits & Storage Upgrades

Learn how Cloud Credits and cloud storage work with CANVID Desktop and Pro, including usage rates, limits, purchases, and expiry.

CANVID separates the desktop app license from optional cloud usage:

Cloud Credits pay for supported AI features when you process them with Cloud AI.
Cloud storage is used by Quick Share, Create a Share Link, and videos in your Cloud Gallery.

Recording, editing, local MP4 or GIF exports, and Local AI processing do not use Cloud Credits or cloud storage.

What is included with each plan?

Desktop License

The CANVID Desktop License includes:

1 GB of cloud storage, starting when the license is activated
One year of Cloud AI usage at no additional charge
Local AI processing on supported hardware without using Cloud Credits

The included Cloud AI period does not change the 1 GB storage limit.

Pro

An active Pro subscription includes:

Unlimited cloud storage
Cloud AI usage at no additional charge

Your current storage limit is shown on the Account page. When Cloud AI is metered for your account, the desktop app also shows your Cloud Credit balance there. The browser Billing page shows your balance and the current usage rates.

How Cloud Credits work

After the included Cloud AI period ends, Desktop License users can purchase Cloud Credits to continue processing supported AI features in the cloud.

Each credit pack adds 1,000 non-expiring credits, displayed as $10.00 of Cloud AI usage in your account. Purchased credits stay in your account until you use them.

Current Cloud AI usage rates are:

The desktop Account page shows your current balance. You can also review your balance and the current usage rates on the browser Billing page. Local AI processing does not deduct Cloud Credits.

If Cloud AI usage is currently included with your license or subscription, CANVID shows it as included and does not deduct from a purchased balance. The option to purchase credits appears when your account is eligible.

How the storage upgrade works

Desktop License users with the standard 1 GB limit can purchase an upgrade to 25 GB of total cloud storage for one year.

The upgrade raises your total limit to 25 GB; it does not add 25 GB on top of the existing 1 GB.
It is a one-time purchase and does not renew automatically.
The one-year period starts when the upgrade is added to your account.
You can purchase the upgrade again after it expires.

If your Account page already shows unlimited storage, you do not need the storage upgrade and the purchase option will not appear.

What happens when the storage upgrade expires?

Your storage limit returns to 1 GB. CANVID does not delete your existing cloud files, but you cannot upload another video while your account is over its limit.

To upload again, you can:

Purchase another 25 GB storage upgrade
Upgrade to Pro
Delete videos you no longer need until your usage is below the limit

Deleting a video from the Cloud Gallery is permanent. Download anything you want to keep before deleting it.

Purchase credits or storage

You can purchase an available add-on from the desktop app or your browser.

From the CANVID desktop app

Open Settings.
Select Account.
Under Cloud Credits, select Purchase Credits; or under Cloud Storage, select Get more storage.
Complete checkout in the browser window that opens.

From your browser

Open your CANVID Billing settings.
Find Cloud AI Credits or Cloud Storage.
Select the available purchase option and complete checkout.

Purchase options only appear when they apply to your current license and entitlements.
