Animations

Control motion blur and zoom animation behavior in CANVID. Learn how to make zooms feel smoother, snappier, or more subtle from the Animations tab.

The Animations tab in the CANVID Editor gives you control over how movement feels in your video. You can turn Motion Blur on or off and choose how your zooms animate when they move in and out.

Open The Animations Tab

Go to the editor

Finish a new recording, or open an existing project.

Open the sidebar tab

Click the Route icon to access the Animations sidebar.

Motion Blur

Use Enable Motion Blur to control whether CANVID applies motion blur while the mouse cursor or screen is moving.

  • Turn it on if you want movement to feel smoother and more cinematic.
  • Turn it off if you prefer a cleaner look with less motion effect.
Motion Blur is enabled by default for new projects.

Zoom Movement Animation Style

The Zoom movement animation style setting controls how zooms move when CANVID animates into and out of a zoomed area.

You can choose from four presets:

  • Molasses
  • Default
  • Gentle
  • Stiff

Each preset changes how quickly and smoothly the zoom settles into place.

This is a global setting, so it affects zoom animations across the whole project.

Customize

If you want more control, open Customize below the preset buttons.

There you can fine-tune:

  • Tension to make the zoom feel snappier or more forceful
  • Friction to make the zoom slow down more quickly or glide longer

This is useful when the preset options are close, but you want your zooms to feel a little tighter or a little softer.
