App System Tray
Learn how to use the CANVID system tray for quick access to recordings, settings, and projects, without opening the full app window.
The System Tray gives you quick access to CANVID’s basic functions, no need to fully open the app window.
Enable the Feature
The app system tray is enabled by default. You can access the option to enable/disable this in the App Settings (under General ).
Clicking X will minimize the app to the system tray instead of fully closing it. To completely quit the app, use the app’s main menu or close it from the system tray.
System Tray Access
On Windows
Click the Show Hidden Icons arrow in your taskbar to locate CANVID’s system tray icon, then right-click it to access the available options.
On Mac
Right-click the CANVID icon in the top menu bar to access the available options.
System Tray Options
Right-click the system tray icon to access these options:
- New Recording: Opens the main recording window.
- Record Display: Opens the prerecording window with the displayoption pre-selected.
- Record Window: Opens the window capture tool so you can quickly pick a window to record.
- Settings: Opens the app settings window.
- Open Project: Lets you choose a project to open.
- Open Last Project: Reopens the most recent project you worked on.
- Quit App: Completely closes the app.
