Verbose Trace Log

Learn how to enable and generate a verbose trace log in CANVID for troubleshooting. Follow these simple steps to send detailed logs to support and resolve issues faster.

Sometimes, our support team may request a more detailed log file to help troubleshoot an issue effectively. If you're asked to generate and send a verbose trace log, follow these steps:

Enable verbose trace logging

Run the app, then open the Main Menu and select Settings.

You can also click the icon at the top of the app for quick access to the app settings.

Under Advanced, enable Verbose Trace Logging.

Recreate the issue

With Verbose Trace Logging enabled, use the app normally and try to reproduce the issue until the error or unusual behavior appears again.

Generate new logs

Once the issue occurs again, open the Main Menu in the top-left corner and select Generate Logs to save the log file.

Save the project file

Depending on the issue, support may also request a copy of the project file. To save one, open the Main Menu in the top-left corner and select Save Project As.

Send the files to support

  • Logs only: Simply send the file directly in the support chat
  • Logs with Project File: Support will usually provide a Google Drive folder link where you can upload them.

Disable Verbose Trace Logging

Once finished, don't forget to click Disable Verbose Logging at the top of the app to stop additional logs from being generated and taking up storage space on your system.
