Camera Layouts

In CANVID, you can use different camera layouts to change how your webcam appears during different parts of your video. For example, you can start with your camera taking up the full screen, switch to a picture-in-picture layout while showing your screen, or hide it completely.

This makes it easy to create dynamic videos without needing to manually edit your recording in another video editor.

How to Add Camera Layouts

Click anywhere at the bottom of the timeline to add a new Camera Layout segment (represented by yellow bars). You can then drag and move the segment to choose when the camera layout appears and adjust its length to determine how long it remains active.

Camera Layout Settings

Each Camera Layout segment can be customized to suit your preferences. Select a Camera Layout segment in the timeline to access its settings in the sidebar.

Camera Visibility

Under Camera in Mixer, you can choose how your camera appears in the video:

• Visible - Select this to display your camera as a picture-in-picture overlay. Use the Camera Position options in the sidebar to choose where you want your webam to appear on the screen.
• Hidden - This option hides your camera completely from the video during that Camera Layout segment.
• Full Screen - Make your camera fill the entire screen.   

Additional Options

With a Camera Layout segment selected, scroll down the sidebar to access additional customization options, including:

• Roundness - Adjusts the roundness of the camera frame
• Offset - Fine-tune the camera's position on the screen
• Size - Adjust the size of the camera

Disable Layout

Toggle Disable Layout on to temporarily disable the Camera Layout settings for the selected segment. The  cmaera will revert to its default settings.

Remove Layout

To remove a Camera Layout segment, select the segment in the timeline and press DEL on your keyboard.

Alternatively scroll to the bottom of the Camera Layout settings in the sidebar and click Remove Layout.
