Camera AI Background

Learn how to enhance your screen recordings with CANVID’s Camera AI Background. Say goodbye to cluttered backgrounds. This intelligent feature removes distractions—no greenscreen required!

CANVID's Camera AI Background allows you to blur, replace or whisk away your webcam's real-world background, without the need for a greenscreen.

If you have an Intel Core Ultra NPU, or a fast GPU, consider enabling the Prepare Webcam Background AI while Recording option in the App Recording Settings. This will allow the app to process your Webcam Background AI more efficiently during recording, minimizing wait times.

How to enable

Go to the editor

Finish a new recording, or open an existing project that includes a webcam.

Camera sidebar editor

Select the Webcam icon in the sidebar to open the Camera Editor.

Enable the feature

Find Camera AI Background and switch it on to enable it.

Features

Once Camera AI Background is enabled, additional options will appear in the Camera Editor.

Original

This is the default setting. Your camera background stays unchanged, but you can use the blur slider to control how soft the background appears.

Replace

Use this option to change the camera background that appears behind you in your video. Instead of showing your actual physical background, you can replace it with an image.

Just drag and drop your image file in the Background Image box, or click Choose Image to browse for the image in your computer.

Image formats allowed: .png, .heic, .jpg, .jpeg, .jfif, .pjpeg, .pjp (must be 10MB or less)

This option also lets you adjust the blur of the new background using the blur amount slider.

Replacing your webcam background is ideal for protecting your privacy by keeping personal spaces out of view, or for strengthening your brand by using relevant visuals as your backdrop.

Remove

Use this option to completely eliminate your camera background using the app's next-generation AI algorithm to detect you and remove everything else.

When using Remove, the camera position grid is replaced with a slider that lets you move your camera left or right only along the bottom of your video.

Removing your camera background keeps important content visible during screen recordings while giving your videos a clean, modern look.

You can use Camera AI Background even with cameras generated using the AI Webcam feature.
