CANVID supports both a Local AI and a Cloud AI options for processing of Audio Retakes and Synthetic Webcam. When using the Local AI option it means that your video is processed on your own device instead of in the cloud. While the Cloud AI option is available for all platform, the Local AI option is aimed only at modern hardware with support for AI acceleration.

Local AI support for different types of modern hardware is a work in progress. The current status for support of local hardware for these two AI features is listed below:

✅ Local AI Is Available If:

You are using a Windows Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Laptop or a Windows PC with Intel Discrete Graphics card, including:

1. Intel Arc Graphics Cards (A750 or newer)

If your computer has a discrete Intel Arc GPU (like the Arc A750, A770, or newer), Local AI is supported.

2. Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Laptops

These are 14th-gen Intel Core Ultra chips branded as 200V 200H or 200HX.

Examples include:

  • Core Ultra 9 285H / 285HX
  • Core Ultra 7 265H / 265HX
  • Core Ultra 5 245H / 245HX
  • Core Ultra 9 288V
  • Core Ultra 7 268V
  • Core Ultra 5 236V

Released late 2024 and early 2025.

❌ Local AI Is Not Available If:

  • You’re using non-Intel GPUs or CPUs
  • You’re on older Intel hardware that doesn’t meet the above requirements
  • You’re on Mac (Local AI is currently Windows-only for now)

But don’t worry, even if your system doesn’t support Local AI, all AI features are still available using Cloud AI, which works great and doesn’t require any special hardware.

🧠 How CANVID Decides if Local AI Will Work

CANVID automatically scans your system to see if your hardware is compatible. You don’t need to do anything.

If supported hardware is detected, you’ll see the option to use Local AI during tasks like audio replacements, or creating synthetic webcam footage.
